Kuyper College Social Work Class
Fourteen Kuyper College students and Judi Ravenhorst-Meerman, Professor of Social Work, are performing research at Guiding Light Mission through April of this year. They have come to determine the answers to these 3 questions:

What are the identified needs of men who enter Guiding Light?

What obstacles would get in the way of meeting the identified needs?

What would be an indicator that a man entering Guiding Light would be ready to leave?

Their broad research will include querying the residents of the program, employees, board members, surrounding community agencies, volunteers, and donors. Besides their research, each Kuyper student will be completing 5 hours of individual volunteer work at the Mission. We are excited that Kuyper College and Professor Ravenhorst-Meerman are bringing further discovery and clarification to Guiding Light Mission and our services. Thank you for all of your help!

Mission Statement

Guiding Light Mission exists to create a healing experience that allows individuals to discover a new life in Christ. We expect re-engagement in community. We provide food and shelter to all and resources to men that support their social, physical, spiritual, and intellectual needs.
