Want to Share Your Gifts?

Share with God's people who are in need. Romans 12:13

We do not charge our clients for services that we provide: emergency shelter & food, emergency food baskets, or our New Life in Christ Program for addiction recovery which includes case management and counseling. We rely heavily on individual donations and do not receive government funding. The gifts that you share, whether it's time or donation of items or dollars, help to provide the necessary services in your community.

God has shared his gifts with you and now you want to share your gifts with those in need.

Items

Gifts in Kind

For from him and through him and to him are all things. Romans 11:36

The individuals that walk through the doors at Guiding Light Mission are in need of the most basic items - items most of us take for granted.
Personal hygiene products, clean sheets, bath towels, socks, underwear, and the list goes on.

See the full list of needs, click here.

Bread & Life

Cast your bread upon the waters, for after many days you will find it again. Ecclesiastes 11:1

Bread & Life is a growing group of financial partners who choose to give monthly to the work of Guiding Light Mission, demonstrating an ongoing commitment in helping the homeless and hurting in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Bread & Life Circle donors are so important. We never know whose life will be changed as a result of walking through our door. We only know that God calls us to reach to "the least of these" with His love and donors help us to be ready.

Monthly Bread & Life Pledge gifts are such blessings to Guiding Light Mission!

Memorials

The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off - for all whom the Lord our God will call." Acts 2:39

When the Strojan family learned of the sudden death of their father, they knew they immediately needed to contact the place that helped to bring their father back to them.

Guiding Light Mission was honored to receive a memorial plaque from the family of Howard Strojan, a START Program alum, who passed away unexpectedly on July 6, 2010.“He was a very magnetic person,” said Alisa Strojan, daughter of Howard Strojan.

Alisa and sister Brooke Tonning chose to commemorate Guiding Light Mission for the care and life-changing rehabilitation program that their father experienced there just two years prior to his passing.

“When we first had an intervention with my dad he was skin and bones,” said Alisa. “We Didn’t know where to take him and couldn’t afford rehab until finally we found Guiding Light Mission. They didn’t take a dime and gave dad all the tools he needed to get healthy. Just 6 months later, the dad we grew up with was back.”

Alisa and her family presented a plaque in loving memory of Howard Strojan to Guiding Light Mission on Sunday, July 25 during the noon chapel service. “Even though we only had dad back for two years before he passed, we were able to start a relationship with him. I have two small children, his only grandchildren, and he was able to spend time to get to know them,” said Alisa. “There is no greater gift that you could have given to us.”
